After falling in love with the area, Kevin Costner is making a major move in Utah
Kevin Costner has been in the spotlight lately, dealing with a messy divorce and his departure from “Yellowstone,” which surely has taken its toll on the legendary actor.
However, amidst the tumultuous times, the actor recently wrapped up filming his new western epic, Horizon: An American Saga, in St. George, Utah.
The movie is written, directed and starring Kevin Costner.
It seems like the area in southern Utah has been a positive influence on the 69-year-old, as he is now set to establish a lasting presence in the region with the creation of a new film studio.
“The State of Utah, with its intrinsic beauty, is the perfect backdrop for the story of Horizon and can be said to be its own character in our story,” Costner said last year.
Known for his roles in blockbuster movies and hit television shows like Dances with Wolves, Yellowstone, and The Bodyguard, Costner’s latest venture will see him opening Territory Studios on land adjacent to the St. George Airport.
The actor himself, however, has not publicly disclosed this information. Instead, the news broke during St. George Mayor Michele Randall’s State of the City address. It was revealed that Kevin Costner’s film studio will comprise 70,000 square feet of sound stages, along with 51,000 square feet of production warehouses and 31,750 square feet of production offices, according to Fox 13.
It’s going to be a substantial construction project – the studio will also feature a Costner-themed restaurant and offer tours showcasing various sets.
Kevin’s decision to establish a film studio in the region not only reflects his personal connection to the area but also highlights the potential for growth and development in the local entertainment industry.
With the addition of a Costner-themed restaurant and guided tours of the sets, this venture promises to not only create job opportunities but also attract visitors from far and wide.
Costner’s commitment to southern Utah underscores the beauty and potential of the region, and we eagerly anticipate the positive impact his studio will have on the community!
